The 9th annual Mayfest event has come and gone with great success.
This little cowboy was not the only one having fun at this year's

Left, is our own Melissa Akers', Francis Patterson, with Melissa's
cute Poodle, Scooby. Scooby had the honor of winning an award at
this year's Dog Show. Congratulations to Melissa and her little
Scooby, the doozie.

Congratulations goes out to Mr. Eugene Hayes of Hamilton AL. Mr.
Hayes won a Weather Monitor given away by the folks here at TEC
during Mayfest.
Speaking of congratulations... we don't mean to brag, but your Tombigbee
Electric Cooperative won First Place at the Business Booth Decoration
Contest at Guin's Mayfest Festival.

May 1st marked the debut of the City of Guin's official city Website
which recently underwent a complete design revamp by our web team
here at TEC. This fantastic site is launched in connection with
Guin's new Industrial Development Board's site (also a TEC project).
Combined the city of Guin has a professional and well-presented
view of our community to reach prospective businesses and community
members. We encourage you to visit these two great Websites on Guin
and submit any information, news, calendar events, old historical
photos, or comments.

TEC's Relay
For Life Golf
Tournament a great success!
Winning Team
Tom Dill, Jason Norris, Tony Hayes, and Jack Burrow.
Congratulations, guys!
The total amount earned for the Relay For Life Golf Tournament is over $5,500.00 which will go toward the American Cancer Society's fight against cancer.
A total of 13 teams played for the trophy in this year's tournament. We, at TEC, are excited to bring this event to LIFE each year and look forward to seeing you again at the Relay For Life walk - at Hamilton's Walking Track on April 26th - and hope to have you join us for the golfing event next year.

This year's special guest is weatherman, Ken Lass. Mr.
Lass will be on hand Saturday from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m., so be sure

What's Happening?
We hope you didn't miss this year's event! This was Tombigbee
Electric's 7th year of participation and take it from us, it just
keeps getting bigger and better each year!
Door prizes were given away and each participating booth had table
give-aways, and goodie bags galore!
Tombigbee's big door prize this year was an electric Lock-N-Go Mecco
Grill, from our Energy Store's new line of grills.

The City of Guin's Industrial Development Board (Guin IDB) has been working with Tombigbee.Net's Manager of Computer Services, Buell Harris, and Tombigbee Website Developer, Kay Marshall, on the IDB's new Website.
The Website, located at www.GuinIDB.org,
went live Monday, March 4th, 2002. The purpose of the site is to
help give prospective industries a place to look to see what Guin,
and Marion County is all about. The site covers such topics as:
Location and Transportation, Utilities, Education, Workforce and
Labor, and Community - which will link to the new City of Guin Website
- also under construction by the Tombigbee Web Development team.
Visit the site at your next opportunity and share in the excitement
of promoting our community!
