Your Tombigbee Electrical Cooperative has been serving Marion, Lamar, and portions of Fayette counties since the 1940's. In this informative section of our Website you'll find our history, history on how and why Electrical Cooperatives were started, information on Green energy, and free services provided to our customers.

We also want you to meet our staff, if you haven't already. Get to know us by name and face so that we can serve you better; and in several convenient locations on this site you'll have access to our customer support form which you can fill out with your comments, questions, or suggestions on how we can make our company more productive for YOU.

Our team here at Tombigbee Electric Cooperative is led by our General Manager, Steve Foshee. Steve has been at the helm since December 1, 1998 and has led this company straight into the 21st Century. Steve comes from the Sand Mountain area, in Douglas, Alabama. He received a degree in Economics & Finance from Auburn University in 1981, and has been in the utility business since 1985. He has a wife, Libby, and two sons, Joshua, who isemployeed as an accountant in Birmingham, and Caleb, who is attending Jacksonville State University. He is very active in our community economic development interests, and serves on the board of the West Central Partnership of Alabama, which services Fayette, Lamar, and Pickens counties. Steve also serves on the Board of Directors at the Alabama Rural Electric Associations statewide office, as well as on the board of the United Utility Supply, in Louisville, KY.

Statement of Non-Discrimination

Tombigbee Electric Cooperative, Inc. is the recipient of federal financial assistance from the Rural Utilities Service, an agency of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, and is subject to the provisions of Title VI of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, as amended, Section 504 of the Rehabilitation Act of 1973, as amended, the Age Discrimination Act of 1975, as amended, and the rules and regulations of the U.S. Department of Agriculture which provides that no person in the United States on the basis of race, color, national origin, sex, religion, age, or disability shall be excluded from participation in, admission or access to, denied the benefits of, or otherwise be subjected to discrimination under any of this organization’s program or activities.

FOSHEE AND MCRAE ELECTED
TO A.R.E.A. BOARD OF DIRECTORS

Steve Foshee of Winfield and Jim McRae of Hamilton were elected to the Alabama Rural Electric Association of Cooperatives' Board of Directors April 8 during the association's 57th annual meeting in Montgomery.
Foshee, general manager of Tombigbee Electric Cooperative Inc., will serve on the association's risk management and regulatory compliance committee. McRae will serve on the association's executive, training and development, and legislative committees.
A.R.E.A.'s board also elected Mike Simpson of Sand Mountain Electric Cooperative as chairman, Jim Winn of Coosa Valley Electric Cooperative as vice chairman, and Gary Harrison of Dixie Electric Cooperative as secretary-treasurer.
